One of the biggest fears is that Industry 4.0 will lead to mass unemployment and low skilled jobs are replaced. But many experts believe the effect to be more of a shift or change in a landscape. So vice versa Industry 4.0 leads more employment in Hybrid Verticals (such as IT + energy, IT + healthcare, or IT + agriculture, IT+Manufacturing, IT+Splly Chian Management, etc..).

I believe it will reduce repetitive manual/Human efforts which save’s human valued time…
Which intern makes space to think big and generate new ideas and new development….
It i will impact employment ….In every Industrial revolution it happened now also it is going to happen but still it will open new windows….. for new innovations….

I think it will reduce lots of manual and repetitive based labors but create more dynamic employment opportunities, requiring inter-discipline skills and cross-functional environment.

Industry 4.0 is a reaction to the current industrial global environment. Jobs are created, lost and redefined during every revolution. It happened during the first industrial revolution and during all following revolutions. The introduction of steam equipment, electronics and informatics have seen great changes in the industrial landscape. The difference with 4.0 is that we are now in a global economy and jobs will flow to those spots where the highest efficiency exists. This will undoubtedly displace people. That being said, we can ensure that certain jobs will be retained by certain areas by strengthening companies so that they can remain competitive in the market.
Gajanan Shirnewar
Due to Industry 4.0 the employment can be affected in both ways. It will lead to creating new job opportunities while the traditional jobs type will disappear. We can relate this to an earlier revolution happened in the industry like Industrial Automation.
When industrial Automation was happening, many asked similar questions and I think the answer is the same for Industry 4.0

based on my opinion, the IoT will improve the employee quality beside smoother the daily basis process and procedure. it could eliminate the simple and repetitive task

Since industry 4.0 concept is over to one step ahead of Industrial Automation. Many new employment
opportunities are generating at the same time it is reducing old labour kind of employment opportunities are reduced

Industry 4.0 not impact on employee its just for the ease of employee.

Industry 4.0 is a new stage in the Organisation and and control of Industrial value chain with application of IoT enabled automation. There will be huge amount of data generated which will need to be exchanged between the system for automating process , bringing in efficiency . There will be huge dependency on technology making reliability of connectivity , security of data and data for analytics very important and therefore it will need different ways of working . The jobs of today is definitely going to change with Industry 4.0.

In many industries and countries, the most in-demand occupations or specialties did not exist 10 or even five years ago, and the pace of change is set to accelerate. 65% of children entering primary school today will ultimately end up working in completely new job types that don’t yet exist
Abdlhameed
Pessimistic view is presenting the development of the industry 4.0 in a way that will completely substitute most of the today’s occupations and it is only matter of time when it will happen.
Optimistic view predicts new markets, more opportunities and takes more effects into consideration than only the effect of substituted jobs

Industry 4.0 give a huge apportunity of a skilled based person. It enhances the productivity ,quality and quantity of a industry .it also reduce idle time which is main drawbacks of all previous industry version.
Sandeep gocher
The revolution of Industry 4.0 is giving manufacturers faster, more flexible, and more efficient processes to produce higher-quality goods and at lower costs. But one of the biggest changes is to the workforce. … We have seen the change in job descriptions that are including Industry 4.0 terminology such as IoT and AR.

It has both positive and negative effects in the longer run, during initial stages the unskilled labor take a hit as they gets replaced by robots or CPS. But in longer run, it creates demand for highly skilled labor such as creators of CPS, creators of robots etc.,

Although it reduce unskilled labour but try to improve digital knowledge among workers

DT helps in two ways I. e
Improving skills set of workers and taking off unskilled labour’s. Increasing machine and decrease in men results in faster growth of the firm

employment will be there provided engineers manage to add skills required

In order to work with industry 4.0 People must have to bring lot of skills like machine learning, IOT, manufacturing and production system, sensors, programming, data science and analytics. Then and only then people can work efficiently with industry 4.0

Employees will be more diversified in terms of skills. All the employees need to be digitally aware. The apprenticeship will focus on getting the them trained on digital awareness. There would be fusion of skills, such as mechanical and analytics, supply chain and cyber security, etc. All the existing employees need to be trained. People performing repeatable jobs, and automatable jobs will need to be trained and redeployed in other areas. There would be a huge demand for certified and experienced professionals in digital technologies. Industry 4.0 will change the way customers, vendors, dealers, suppliers, management, and employees work with each other, and hence legal and security aspects would gain a lot of importance.

Industry 4.0 will impact in both ways depends upon the persons knowledge acquiring /adopting the with latest technologies and in which stage we are standing at the industry world.

Dear Friends,
The Industry 4.0 is not going to impact on unemployment of the present Manpower, but it will empower the Present Manpower by getting them retrained to meet the Technical requirements to implement the Industry 4.0.
The Industry 4.0 is all about merging the IT into the present OT systems.
The Industry 4.0 is getting initiated by CXO Personnel in an IT Department of the Company, they are learning and understand about the OT systems, inorder to implement the Industry 4.0.
The same way, IT Personnel are involving the OT Personnel in the implementation of Industry 4.0
Here you can that notice that, the people of IT are learning the OT, and the people of OT are learning the IT. Every person is getting upgraded, retrained and learning the other technology during the implementation of Industry 4.0.
Absolutely there is no treat to the present Employment due to Implementation of Industry 4.0 in an Industry unless until you resist yourself to learn / retrain the new Technologies and adopt to them.
Graham Burnikell
Industry 4 is the latest landscape disruption we face as a society however there have been 3 precursors each of which the same question has been asked.
We need to look to history where we see disruptions impact employment on “lower skilled” workers but for a period of time only as the balance is reset and the “lower skilled” workers find other openings, retrain or are deployed into areas where the cost of Industry revolution is seen to be prohibited in the immediate time frame.
There will be a blip as the world shifts into Industry 4 however, the real influence on how long this blip will be in existence is how we use history to prepare for reinvestment in workforce prior to its arrival.

As in previous Industry revolutions types of employment will shift but not to displace number of available jobs but there will be new types of jobs. The challenge as always is solidifying these new positions ahead of the changes so people can be trained. Establishing standards for industry 4.0 will be key.
Pingnagan Pranavam
Its very specific to the Industry. May be It can be a different Impact. While also based on the Country status. The Developing countries will have a bigger impact on both sides.
Kjell Sadowski
Just like in all industrial revolutions jobs have been created, lost and redefined.
In the first industrial revolution, steam and coal system were embraced.
In the second, there was electricity and petrol/diesel.
The third embraced computer systems and now we are embracing informatics. Each time, there was opposition and difficulty but people adapted.
A major difference this time is that we are living in a global economy. It is our responsibility to embrace Industry 4.0 in order to strengthen those industries that exist. This will help preserve jobs in the areas where these companies are present. Lagging behind the revolution will only cause existing companies to fold due to their loss of competitiveness in the new market.

The introduction of Industry 4.0 will greatly affect the employment of people as many processes will be automated, and the development of new technologies will require people to new skills and knowledge to which the education system is not ready at the moment.
Nagesh Setty KS
The Industry 4.0 will make the people to adopt to the new Technologies, hence u have to upgrade yourself.
Similarly the Government and the Education System has to change to the present Technology.
Already some educations systems are adopting to the New Technologies due to this COVID 19 Situation world wide
Andrei Shulha
There is both a threat and new opportunities for work in the future. Some jobs will be converted; some will disappear; some will be created.
How technology can affect employment: some estimates from various sources.
Oxford University – 47% of workers in America risk losing their jobs due to automation.
PricewaterhouseCoopers – 38% in the US, 30% in the UK, 21% in Japan and 35% of jobs in Germany can be eliminated due to automation.
Roland Berger – Western Europe: 8.3 million jobs in industry will be lost, but 10 million will be created in the service sector.
In any case, the labor market will change.
Dinesh Rout
In short term ,the higher scale of automation will impact to the employment ,often to the lower skill employees who perform simple & repetitive tasks . At the same time the use of new emerging technologies ,Computer, software , robots , data analytics will increase their individual competencies in the long term. more ever it empowers the employees to do a better job with perfection and more professional way.
