Hi,
Very early to say this that weather drone will be using distributed ledger or not however, as we know blockchain is just a technology and help in transaction.
rather keeping record centralized company who are making drone will think for DL, NASA and other international organizations working to make a series of transaction to work with Blockchain technology.

Amazon have already drone deliveries. Several startups have come up that are integrating blockchain technologies with drones. To achieve this, a drone can connect with a chip reader on an IoT-connected (Internet of Things) access point like a door or window. Once the chip reader verifies the identity on the blockchain the drone enters and delivery can be completed.

I certainly agree that it’s still early to say but there is a growing list of use cases for blockchain for drone applications. In the early stages of the market for both blockchain and drone technologies, there are still only a limited number of projects, and in various stages of development. The projects span from using blockchain for the high trust identity of a drone asset in package delivery applications to a blockchain token system for compensating property owners for low-altitude drone flight over their property.I see some companies are using blockchain for drone delivery business.
Definitely possible utilising IoT to record completion of a step require to complete a blockchain verification process.
